We continue with Chapter 2, a fantastic road-trip in the region of Salta and Jujuy. Multicolored mountains, numerous quebradas , salt flat, wine tasting… all of this in 7 days only! Next and final episode of my road trip around Salta, with many adventures on our way to the South of the region. Add incredible landscapes and nice meetings to this and you get a perfect combo! After a nice and quiet night in our great hostal in San Antonio de las Cobres , we headed south in the direction of Salta. This time, we had tar road, which felt good after so many kilometres on dirt and stony road. The road was following the famous Tren a las Nubes a touristic and quite expensive railway but know for its beautiful landscapes and its rails more than 4 m high.

Rating: 0. Well after 23km the road becomes paved, and some sunshine pierce the clouds while reaching the top of the pass. What follows is a long downhill but pedaling is necessary because the headwind really stops us. And we stop when we reach the hamlet of Santa Rosa de Tastil at m, there's a tiny bakery with fresh pastries, I try one each of the lot they're offering, many with sweet dulce de leche. There is a good public park here in Santa Rosa tables and running water , and hardly anybody around so we're thinking of camping here, the wind is such a pain today that for me it's useless to continue now when in the morning it will be quiet. Then we chat with the owners of the one and only restaurant that is next to the bakery and turns out that next to it there is a huge empty warehouse used for festivals and if we want we can camp inside there on the barren earth, sure we do. Later, at 9pm of course, earlier will be considered lunch, we'll be having dinner with at the restaurant and there are only three customers, we two and, guess what, another cyclist, Markus from Germany, and how did I find out he's cycling: the shimano shoes with cleats of course.
Car rental Salta - Salta Forum
So we watched it that night. Mann was in the movie. The next morning we left Salta.
We need to rent a car at the Saltaa airport in March and are wondering which rental companies are reliable. There seems to be mixed reviews and nothing current. More info on our experience on my blog, under the Argentina link How much was the rental? My wife and I will be arriving in Salta by Andesmar bus from Mendoza on 29th November, and need a car for at least a couple of days to get to Cachi for an overnight stop, then back to Salta where we're staying for three days.
